Pat salmon dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt and pepper.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
Place salmon skin-side up. Cook 4 minutes without moving until golden crust forms.
Flip and cook 3-4 more minutes until just cooked through (internal temp 52°C/125°F for medium).
Remove salmon. In the same pan, add butter and garlic. Cook 1 minute until fragrant.
Add lemon juice and capers. Swirl to combine.
Pour sauce over salmon. Garnish with fresh herbs and lemon slices.
