  • 1.5L fresh apple cider (not apple juice)
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 8 whole cloves
  • 3 star anise
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar or honey
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • Optional: vanilla bean

Instructions

    Combine apple cider, cinnamon sticks, cloves, star anise, orange slices, and lemon slices in a large pot.

    Add brown sugar and nutmeg.

    Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Do not boil.
